CareNet MINISTRIES

(Formerly known as Compassion Ministries)

MINISTRY LIFE VERSE
And now abideth faith, hope, and charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity." - I Corinthians 13:13

MISSION STATEMENT.
CareNet is a ministry that provides care, support, and friendship to members, nonmembers and visitors of Solomon’s Porch.

MINISTRY GOAL.
CareNet’s goal is to “see a need and meet” it to the best of our Christian ability.

CareNet is many faceted, below are the sub-ministries and their loose job descriptions that we feel would help us accomplish our ministry goal at this time

MEALS OF LOVE.
Meals of Love is a ministry of assistance and encouragement for those unable to provide their own meals for a brief period - due to coming home from a hospital stay, being a new mom, an injury or illness or during the time of the loss of a loved one.

FOOD PANTRY.
The food pantry is designed to meet the immediate need of a family or single in a crisis situation.

GREETERS AMD WELCOME TABLE.
Ministry opportunities are available for Greeters on Sunday mornings who will welcome all who enter our church. Greeters assist visitors in locating children’s church, and nursery classrooms. They also hand out the bulletins; provide information and any other handouts. Friendly, smiling faces and outstretched hands to grasp those of guests can have a wonderful impact on first-time visitors

PRAYER REQUESTS.
Attendees or members experiencing physical or emotional distress are encouraged to request intercession through the church office, by email, telephone or through the Prayer Request Card available in the Sunday bulletin. Any staff member of the church will take appropriate action on these requests.

PRAYER CHAIN.
Prayer chain’s goal is to provide members with a home for submitting their prayer requests. This will be a structured, organized group of people who are willing to pass on the prayer requests and to pray for the need.

NEEDS MINISTRY.
Our Ministry Goal again is to see a need and meet it. If someone has a need in the congregation we will attempt to either meet the need ourselves or network to get the need met. During the holidays we create Thanksgiving baskets and host the Blessing Tree

HOSPITAL MINISTRY.
An opportunity to extend God’s love, comfort and encouragement to the hospitalized and their families through effective visitation, prayer, phone calls and greeting cards.

CARE TEAM.
A team of individuals who are ready to be called upon during services to pray with or be of help to individuals as needed...

MEMBER INTEGRATION.
We are currently developing programs to help our congregation connect. We launched 4x4 groups at the beginning of the summer and are looking to start more things in the fall. We are also looking to develop some “big events” (Trunk and Treat for example) that would be two-fold #1 reach out to the community and #2 create “community service times” for our congregants.
